Thanks! After 4 years of owning snakes I realized I have much more "mature" approach now. I no longer jump on every occassion just because it's a deal, on the contrary, we sold all the ones that were nice looking but we weren't really attached to them. Now I like seeing pictures of all the species but I'm really picky about what to get for myself

I also noticed that I love all the ball, corn or hognoses morphs, but at the end of the day I look at my normals/wildtypes and I feel that I like them best of all the color variants. Shame the market is already flooded with normals as I don't want to breed and add to the unwanted babies lists.

To be honest less is better in my case too, when we were approaching 20-30 reptiles it was fun but now that we have around 10 it's a lot better for me. I can take better care of each of them and just enjoy watching them not having to worry where to place that one who outgrowed his enclosure or thinking how much the next mice order will costs. They became my pets again instead of just a "collection" and that's most important to me.

I did some additional pictures of junglecorn girl, but it's hard to capture her real colors. The yellow is slightly greenish and it looks very cool, but the camera doesn't really catch this.

Since our ball python is in shed and the corn snake is ill I don't have any actual pictures of them (yet).

Russians!! They're lovely, especially the melanistic. Sorry to hear about your corn snake. Hopefully it is minor & temporary.

Thank you! Our poor corn snake had some bad "flu" and parasites but he's already declared fully cured by our vet, just needs to recover his lost weight since he was really, really thin. He gained near 30 grams in last month so if he keeps this up he'll be perfectly fine in the next month or two

Just a quick and sad update: I needed to sell Orion (melanistic schrenckii) last month since we needed money asap and he was the most "expensive" snake we had

I'm so sad about it, I'm not really sure I will get back to breeding snakes.
We have 10 eggs from Artemis&Orion pairing but I'm not sure if they will hatch since some of them seem to be too dry while others seem to have issues wth mold... It looks like they have too much humidity and are too dry at the same time.

I also needed to rehome two of our three beardies since our living conditions changed a lot and we couldn't fit proper enclosures in our current flat. Now we have 8 reptiles and 2 dogs and it looks like it will stay this way for foreseeable future. Even if we will be able to fit more enclosures one day, I'm not really sure if I will still want to get more reptiles as after being "forced" by life to rehome three of my favourites I kinda lost a small part of my heart for this hobby.

Good thing is that one of the beardies went to my sister and I visit her a lot while the other one is with my friend so at least I can still be a part of their life.

Sorry to hear about the downturn. Mom used to say "Life is what happens while you're making other plans" and I've found that too true too often. What are you doing differently with the eggs than the last clutch? Those seemed to go quite well.

Thanks, and that's exactly what happened to us too. With eggs the funny thing is that I keep them at the same temp, in the same substrate, in the same boxes... I don't know if they will make it or not. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we needed to move to new flat while Artemis was already "pregnant" and even though the eggs looked perfect after laying something is wrong inside of them? Hard to tell really.

One reason I started with breeding Dominican mountain boas, no eggs to incubate. The climacophora pair look to be mature now, will see about breeding them next. I ran across an article about incubating colubrid eggs using an aquarium heater in a tub of water to maintain temp and humidity, with the eggs resting on nylon stockings stretched out above the water. May try that method myself, seems like less worries than using vermiculite or other media.
