Yep, the whole bottle mixed in a gallon. It's chunky stuff and takes quite a bit of mixing to get it fully incorporated. I mixed my right in the gallon jug. Found it easier to remove about 1/4 of the water so it's has more air room to share around and agitate better. Then pour the rest of the water back in when you're done mixing.

This is also what we plan to do next time. I had the bright idea of dumping everything into a big tub, and using a spoon to mix it all together, and then try to pour it into spray bottles. didn't work out too well. I'm not allowed to have bright ideas like this anymore.

Re: Got bugs?
PS.. you don't need to use the comb on your snakes (hehehe)
Sorry. Don't mean to joke; I know this is serious.

Re: Got bugs?
Best of luck to you and Moe while dealing with these vile mites. We found them on our Retic the first day of having him and the poor guy is not a happy camper, has been a battle. We've had to limit handling to an absolute bare minimum so he's a nightmare when it's time for treatment/maintenance. He's mid soak right now and I'm gently reminding him that he's not the only one in this predicament. I don't think it's calming him any lol

Re: Got bugs?
Well ... I woke up yesterday morning to George now having mites...Grrrr... So I hit him with the old treatment since I had some left; and then went out and bought the Nix.... I ended up buying the two pack because they didn't have a single bottle... Got home and my wife said they have single bottle at a store across the street from us... Grrrr... So I was going to take the two pack back this morning, when I woke up to George soaking again with more mites... Now I hated to have to treat him again so soon but I need to get a handle on this... So I said screw taking it back; broke open the two pack mixed up one bottle, and treated his cage and him with it.... I know your supposed to treat the whole collection but my ball pythons are awful young and have never had mites so I am a little leary on using it on them... Well for the first time I am not jealous of you guys with large collections ... I only have five... It would take a lot of work to treat a large collection... and the battle continues!!!
PS. Oh! The reason I gave him his water back is I thought he might be constipated... Still hasn't pooed in a long while now...

Re: Got bugs?
I've had mites only a couple of times (aside from snakes in quarantine...I assume everything coming in has them and treat them as such). Once when I only had about 8 snakes, the second time I had 54 adults (thankfully I was sold out of babies and it wasn't breeding season), most of which were on loose substrate...so I had to treat them all and ditch all the substrate. Wasn't fun but I kicked their butt in 2 weeks and continued to treat for 2 months. I would MOST DEFINITELY treat your ball pythons as well, but of course that's ultimately up to you. Just know that if you miss something, as you've already experienced...they'll reoccur.
