Actually update already , was curious to see if he would eat so i offered him a retired breeder mouse (about equivalent to a small rat ) and he took it without hesitation on day 1.

I would try and get him on rats of the appropriate size mate you don't want him getting a taste for mice, some burms can be a nightmare to switch over prey items and some are ok with it but better being safe than sorry imo

UPDATE: Grown quite a bit in the past 3 or so months also is downing medium rats like a champ may even bump him up to large rats soon
