The scale count is for any age snake. Counting the scales on a shed skin might be your best bet.

Yeah, it definitely looks like a Florida king. Lampropeltis g. floridana. The lighting is much better to appreciate the pattern and coloration.

Thank you she is a character this one. Open up the top and she has a high prey drive she just watches you.
