Re: My house now has not hardwood or tile but CARPET!!
Gorgeous girl! I think it's a good thing I didn't snag a carpet a few years ago, because I feel I'd get hooked on them, too, and it would truly be a fight trying to fit a bunch of both carpets and boa constrictors in our current residence. lol Definitely want to get one in the future, though.

Thanks, funny the breeder told me 1 carpet soon turns into 10 lol. I don't want that to happen but seeing the characteristics of carpets I could see how that could happen. Hell I've seen pictures of a pied carpet. Who could turn down a pied carpet if they saw it?!?!?

Re: My house now has not hardwood or tile but CARPET!!
Blaze- Don't buy too many pinkys. Carpets can be started on mice fuzzys if not mice hoppers straight from the egg. As MDT said rat pinks are cool too. They can handle larger meals than you would think. I started my carpets on mice fuzzys and moved them to rat fuzzys after that. As far as the potential to get addicted to Morelia. I know how easy that is. My last 4 snakes have been carpets.

Re: My house now has not hardwood or tile but CARPET!!
Very pretty little one, looks about the size as my IJ when I brought her home. That one would strike at anything that moved, but has calmed down 100% now. She's still taking mice, just fed her a good-size adult tonight, while the older/larger jungle/cross is now taking medium rats. He was never a problem to handle from the start, I suspect yours will be about the same. I just switched him from mice a few weeks ago after he escaped his tank and chowed down a whole tub full of breeder mice, 6 pregnant females and one male. No problem switching him over, I just gave him a live rat to start the transition from mice. He'll be switched to f/t after one more live feeding.

Short answer (not to hijack thread)...yes they do. very well. i use them preferentially. you get them from Reptilinks whole-prey
nutritionally vetted, kcal/gm better than mice or rats. don't feed as often, waste products decreased, growth rates up, food bill down.

I don't know of anywhere to buy them in Canada. No distributors listed and I haven't even seen or heard of anyone trying them here.

Re: My house now has not hardwood or tile but CARPET!!
MDT, I just checked that website and it looks like it's 4$ a link for the equivalent for a medium rat, without shipping cost. That's a good bit more than frozen rats. How often do you feed with those (lets say an adult carpet).

Re: My house now has not hardwood or tile but CARPET!!
I've never used them just knew what they were.
Back on topic. The little worm gave me a mild heart attack. Took 5 minutes searching the cage until I found her semi buried wedged under a stump. Started thinking escape even though it's secure.
