Re: Shipping Dilemma
Thank you. She is doing well now that I turned the light off. Seems a bit more secure running around. I honestly would prefer her to be resting, but I think she knows better than me.
Except she is awfully curious about the doors...

Re: Shipping Dilemma
Glad it all worked out for you and the snake in the end. Like others have said, just let things be for a few days and do as little as possible to add any stress. Let the snake get used to its new environment and figure out what hides it likes and when it's ready to use them. Keep the fresh water available and make sure temp/humidity is good and that's about all you should need to do for the next few days. Best of luck!

Re: Shipping Dilemma
Thank you all.
Let me share a photo that has me amused.
Everyone who has had a snake: Yeah. They always try that if they can.
It is sealed off pretty tightly. She isn't going to find anything there.

Re: Shipping Dilemma
What a silly snake! Definitely wouldn't attempt opening the door. lol
Sometimes active snakes just don't stay in hides, too. My retic would only use her hides off and on, now that she's in her T12 she uses them during the day and lays stretched out on her basking shelf at night. Any time I put just one foot in the snake room, she comes right out to look, too.
I've also found snakes tend to be especially antsy right after being shipped, they usually settle down a few hours to a few days later. I hear womas are fairly active, alert snakes, though, so she may not calm down too much. lol Beautiful girl and glad you got her home safe and sound!

Re: Shipping Dilemma
She's at least sleeping now. In a shadow on the warm side... Still want to get in there and move thermometers around but I don't think she'll let me yet.
But yeah, I plan on waiting a couple days to do anything else. Tomorrow night I will drop in a thawed pinkie to see if she does anything with it.

Re: Shipping Dilemma
Which one would you be referring to? I know that most of the hides I have are ZooMed. There are the plaster-like ones and I have not seen them anywhere but the reptile specialty shop I visit on what seems to be a regular basis.
