You know, places like Lowes will cut the wood for you on a giant table saw, so you will have nice striaght cuts. I always have them do all the cuts for me when I am buying my lumber. The only thing they can't do are the plunge cuts (in the middle of the sheet, as in vent openings, etc.).
Also, if you do all of your sanding and painting/staining and poly sealing before you assemble the cage, it is ALOT easier. I build all my own cages (as much for my own satisfaction as for savings), and the only part I hate is the sanding.
