Re: hand feeding baby bush viper
The idea that we can prevent the ban of venomous snakes by handling them responsibly is probably a bit optimistic. Yes, keeping them hidden from the public eye will help prolong a ban a tiny bit longer, but the reality is animal rights groups and the quasi conservation groups they run to try legitimizing their views are spending a lot of money making sure anti-pet legislation gets pushed and venomous is one of the easiest areas to target. Realistically I think all we can do is put permits in place in places that are pet friendly such as states with large dog breeders, etc and hope they continue to issue new ones. They are even trying to ban frogs and salamanders. As an example of one of the quasi conservation groups take a look at Save the Frogs... this guy begs people not to keep frogs as pets wtf lol Defenders of wildlife is another great example, note that they spend considerable effort trying to pretend to be a legitimate conservation organization to hide their real agenda. Long story short, some jack arse handling a snake on youtube is not good but there are bigger fish to fry.
