Re: lets see whats rare out there

I believe it's do to the fact that a large majority of there range is in states where it is illegal to sell, buy, trade or barter native reptiles and most other animals that are native.

I have posted this picture before but I'll post it agin so you can see what the rest of the snake looks like...

Re: lets see whats rare out there

So far everything posted on this thread is venomous. Mine is probably the least dangerous of them being rear fanged with very mild venom with no reported injurys from them on file. Plus theyer so passive I think the only reason they may strike would be a feeding response. Which is also unlikely as they wont even feed from tongs simply off a plate.

I trade off many of my snakes to keep my collection diversified for my shows. This way people see many different kinds of snakes each year when they attend one of my shows.

My water python, liasis fuscus. The only thing I have that is uncommon in the pet trade.

Water python is pretty cool. Finally a non venomous on the thread!

Super cool colours on him/her is it more of a green or blue in natural light? hard to tell in the pics they always distort colours a bit.

To me these are one of those snakes that aren't necessarily the pretties but cool to have in a collection because of what they are. I haven't seen one for sale near me but when I do I'll probably pick it up...

IW17, I have always loved the greenish blue hue of water pythons, very cool.

Wow, some great pics. I'm really enjoying this thread. So far my favourite is the Mangrove Pit Viper. Awesome looking snake.
