Re: Eating on my hand

Cute... But definitely not a snake I would want associating hands/fingers for food. Their bite may not be lethal or even dangerous but why risk it?

Some times you do things just for fun. Not everything has to be politically correct.

It's not about being politically correct... It's about feeding a venomous snake in your hand... but okie dokie. Let's have "fun"?

I have nothing against people hand feeding small non-venomous snakes btw. I just think people need to treat hogs with a little more respect. Did no one see that post here where someone was chewed on by their tiny hog because her hand smelled like food? The reaction she had wasn't a pretty one.

Yes I did, it's on my website, with her permission. She allowed it to chew on her finger while she took pictures. She could have easily removed the snake from her finger, but wanted to get pictures of it biting her. That was her choice.

Re: Eating on my hand

Wow so cool, if I had a smaller snake I would try that! Makes for a great pic.

My adult BP strikes very hard and fast though, so I prefer to use tongs.

I give up. lol

From her post here on the forum:

I however, could NOT get him off of my finger. I thought he was biting for about five minutes, but my husband says it was closer to ten....

He just happened to bite and sink in really well right away. He bit and his fangs were IN and already locked an curved into my flesh. Believe me, i wouldn't have let him chew that long on purpose. I was shouting the whole time
Unless she's lying, it sure doesn't sound like it was "her choice" and even she is going to start respecting hogs a little more...

I plan to treat my silly hognose snakes with a bit more respect just because all snakes need to be...and some more than others

This was the second time she was bitten by her hog nose, and she took pictures both times. If you look at the pictures on my website, you will see I used pictures from both bites. She was bitten once one the right hand and once on the left hand. I did not realize she sent me pictures from both bites, as I mistakenly posted them as being from the same bite. She did not consider it a big deal. When I spoke to her personally, she said she was more interested in taking pictures, than getting the snake off her finger.
