Re: Best Venomous Display Snake
Wagler's vipers make great display snakes- they are very colorful, impressive and interesting to watch. Unfortunately, they tend to go downhill after a few years in captivity. I don't know anyone that has gotten them to survive past the 4-5 year mark.
I think that for sheer display beauty, any of the arboreal vipers are a great way to go. I have purple mangroves, Wetar Island, eyelash, and Yunnan bamboo vipers, along with bush vipers, Habus, rattlers, macrops and puffs.
I think that the bright green tree vipers (Yunnan bamboo and macrops) are really impressive snakes. The bright yellow on the eyelash and Wetar Island vipers makes them eye-catching and stunning. But the personality on my rattlers is great- they are very curious and interactive animals.
