I took this picture of an Alligator mississippiensis who had caught a large Florida softshell turtle (Apalone ferox) in the Everglades National Park in 2012. It is actually one of the less gory pictures I took, the turtle was already dead. When I arrived, it was still alive but had no chance to escape.
