Re: Pet photgraphy -Mice.

I like the colors on the second mouse. He reminds me of a peanut-butter cup, with the darker on top and tan peanut color on his belly. Mice are really cute little critters; I work in science though, so I've seen some nasty mouse stuff.
I've seen mice kill and dismember each other while breeding, eat their own babies, etc.
Are all mice like that, or is that a problem for inbred lab mice specifically?

I have seen similar behavior with some of my breeders...mostly the plain white "breeder" mice provided to my by the LPS for a colony...constant cannibalism between adults and litters...once I got fancies and replaced them all, I have had no issues with any of this...even my "grow up tank" which consists of mainly males growing to adult size there is virtually no fighting, where the white ones were eating each other...same food, same conditions, and even more of the fancies than there were whites...I found it odd, but have stuck with my fancies and culled any plain white fuzzies/hoppers that occur from breeding just in case...I have ONE white female that has proven to be a good mom...she is still around until I retire her...

Re: Pet photgraphy -Mice.

The mice i had were mainly bred as pets, not as snake food. I never had any issues with cannibalism, in the start i sometimes had a first time mom eating her young. But after feeding them a different diet that completely stopped! I believe it's part diet, and part selective breeding. I also had white fancy mice who did perfectly btw.
