Smaller subspecies of bci that could fit in a 40 gallon are sonoran desert bci, cay caulker bci, crawl cay bci....etc(Dwarf boas). Just do your research!

Smaller species/subspecies of python that could fit in a 40 gallon are Anteresia pythons(childrens, spotted, stimsons, anthill...etc), small locality jungle carpet pythons such as tully, palmerston...etc.
Ive always like carpet pythons were can you get tully/palmerston

Talk to Nick Mutton from inlandreptile.com. He has palmerstons available. If you want a tully see if he can import them for you from Paul Harris in the UK.

Yeah you have to look under "jungles". Palmerston is just a locality of jungle carpet python.

Shoot Nick an e-mail. He's been working with these animals for years and if you buy one from him he'll give you further support down the line.

I'd also reccomend you buy the book " The complete carpet python" which can be found on his site. It's a must have for carpet owners.

Jungle care is the same as other jungles, they just seem to grow a bit smaller than the rest. Maybe 4-5 feet on average.
