Re: The little Monster completed his 2nd FULL shed.
MBK Boy
I noticed in your sig you have a Cali King and a Black Mexican King. I was wondering if you noticed a difference in temparment between the two as I am interested in a king but all I read online is that they are nippy and some sources say Cali kings have the worst temparment. Just wanted to get a real world perspective and not some regurgitated info from an unknown source.
Thanks,
Brett

Well, my Mexican was abused when I got her. She was in terrible shape and hissed non stop. Now she is a sweet heart and I could ask for a better snake. Calm, cool and I can do anything with her.
My Cali is a NUTS Never bites although she does put her mouth around my hand or finger (she may be taste testing me ![Smilie](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) ).
Eats like a pig, loves being handled. Even when I go any where near her enclosure she will come right to the door and wait till it opens and then come out to me.
Both my Kings are ferocious eaters, never bit and are sweet hearts. I hope this helps.

Hi Brett, I know this post wasn't directed at me and I hope you don't mind if I chime in. I also have a Cal King and a MBK. I've also read about the supposed tempermental issues with Cal Kings. I personally think they get a bad rep. I know all snakes are different but my Cal King, Hannibal Caesar, has never tried to bite me and he's very laid back. He did rattle his tail at me once or twice when I first got him but other than that he's super tame. My 4 year old son loves him and handles him with no issues. Of course I'm always there to supervise. My MBK is a little younger and still a bit flighty when you first hold her but she calms down after a few minutes. All in all they're both very sweet and docile snakes.

This isn't helping the fact that a Mexican Black is at the top of my wish list at the moment

Re: The little Monster completed his 2nd FULL shed.
I really love king snakes~! The solid black is just the icing on the cake~!
I'm hoping to attend the Toronto expo on January the 26th ( I think that's when it is), I want to pick up a hatchling (preferably female)
However....
I'm still in high-school and there-for it's my parents need the convincing :P
I don't know if milking the "It's for Christmas" thing will get me anywhere

Re: The little Monster completed his 2nd FULL shed.
I remember seeing a wee baby at the con last year, but yeah I think it was "Port credits pet center". It's a really big booth with lots of stuff but I don't remember seeing one any where else...

I appreciate the info...certainly making it harder for me to resist getting a king snake now!
