Could also be a dominant trait like the bells lace monitor, but you just did not hit on the odds. You need to do a few more breeding and breed these offspring together or to one of the parents before you can even speculate how the genetics are working. It can take quite a few seasons to prove a trait. And that's with animals that have mature much faster than V. salvator. Genetics are not as clear cut as some people seem to think. There can be many things at play when it comes to how traits are passed down. These babies can darken as they age and get that mixed look. Even pure black dragons show a pattern when they hatch.

With that being said, awesome hatchlings. Hope you figure out the genetics on the black dragons.
