Re: movie the Cove :(

Well...now that I've read what you all have said...I will not be watching this movie at all. I watched "Snakes on a Plane" and couldn't believe the stress they put all those beauties through. That was enough for me--and they even said no snakes were harmed!

This movie is a documentary, so yes the dolphins are harmed, they are slaughtered.

The Japanese government did not want this footage seen, they even tried to arrest the film crew for being in a public park recording the atrocity.

It's not meant to be entertaining, it's informative and heart wrenching.

"snakes on a plane" is a joke of a movie, that was made for entertainment.....

Yeah, can't see myself watching a documentary like that! I know it happens and they have to let people see what is really happening, but I'll just take your word on it.

There are so many cruel things that go on around the world just because of the ole mighty dollar. Very sad that humans can be so inhuman!

I am currently watching the documentary, my emotions are swinging form abject anger, to despondancy and depression, i really dont want to finish watching it but feel i owe it to every cretacean killed to get through to the end. The human race is is sick sick sick.......

Re: movie the Cove :(

The problem with this issue, and many others, is that they always degrade the movement from the beginning by putting the most unlikeable sissies imaginable at the forefront, like those Whale Wars people. Leave it to the media to poison the image of humanitarians and environmentalists by only showing a one-sided hippie perspective when it comes to controversial social issues. They'll never take us seriously with wimps like Dennis Kucinich, Michael Moore and the Sea Shepherds representing us.

Sure they do. Any toothed whale will eat a fish if it can get its hands on it. So will any dolphin.
*edit* I'm aware that whales and dolphins do not have hands.

Also, technically, large baileen toothed whales eat fish indirectly. By eating hundreds of tonnes of plankton a year, a schoolbus sized whale is taking a big chunk out of the support system that feeds the little fish that feeds the big fish that feeds Japanese people so there's your justification for harpooning that guy...

Also, that's a lot of lipstick.

That whale must have passed the story along. His great great great grand son smashed someone's yacht about a year ago with a body slam. Don't know if you remember that. "Hey. Don't whale watch me. I'm serious." ... ... SMASH!
