I have a uth but the thermostat I have won't regulate it properly. I put it half under the heat lamp though:/ it doesn't seem to be working like I hoped.

Re: Please! ASAP!
No, just get another uth, a small one for a 5 gallon tank, stick it directly under the water dish, and plug it into the wall. The snake shouldn't be able to touch it at all since it should be under the dish all the way.

It won't get too hot? Even if the dish completely covers it, the water would be steaming and the dish is a type of glass like. Even then the bottom of it would get very hot as well, right?

Re: Please! ASAP!
Cover up ventilation is one way to achieve increased humidity.
Probably the easiest way without dealing with extra UTH's is to use a bigger/deeper water dish.
There's also the option of a humid hide. You can construct these. I have one for the leopard geckos. I use a margarine container with a hole cut in the side and dampen paper towels. You can use moss instead. You'll just need to keep changing paper towels every few days if you keep them wet so they don't mold.

There is just enough open ventilation for the heat lamp to fit. None extra. The others might be worth looking into. I might try the new substrate first however. Thanks

Re: Please! ASAP!
Aaron made a good suggestion to make a humid hide. The whole tank shouldn't have to have the same humidity but a humid hide will let her choose if she wants to be moist or dry. I use the same method as Aaron for my leos. You can get a good sized tupperware with locking lid at the dollar store as well that could work just as easily. =)

Re: Please! ASAP!
So, I think the rat fuzzy might be a bit small for her should I just leave her? Or thaw another fuzzy? :/ anyway, I think she ate it and went to another hide in her cage. I'm tickled that she took it (even though it took a few minutes to take it)

Re: Please! ASAP!
From what I can see, the fuzzy does look small. Try offering her another and see if she takes it.
Though the best way to find out is to get her weight and iffer about 15% her body weight.
