I like how in the sunlight you can really see the color in his shell. He just so adorable.

Re: Growing Like a Weed
Saturday I entered Tank in the "most bootiful reptile" contest at our local Petco. Found out yesterday he won.

Re: Growing Like a Weed
Got a call from a lady in MI. last night. She said she had seen my Tank videos on YouTube and needed some advice on keeping her snapping turtle.
She said she lives in an apartment complex and found the adult turtle in a cardboard box in a dumpster. The turtle is doing fine now and the lady wants to keep it.
I can't believe the cruelty in people.

Re: Growing Like a Weed
Tank went on the scale this evening. 27.50 pounds at only 5 years old. He's going to be a big boy when he's done.
Here he is relaxing on the couch.

For the last 6 months he has moved into the family bath/shower. It's very convenient and allows for quick water changes. Other then having to move him out when the shower is needed he doesn't seem to mind. We have a schedule worked out and it seems to doing great. Eventually, I want to install something in a spare bedroom for him but until one of the rooms is vacant that won't be happening(I still have 5 kids at home)
