Re: Please! ASAP!

Humidity is just under 50% 81 cool end ambient. Warm end 84 towards the top of the cage and 81 towards the bottom for ambient I didn't want to open up again, will this be sufficient until she is settled? Can I use a flat rock under the warm side to absorb warmth for the basking spot? Now I am letting the room go back to regular temp since the cage can now retain Temps.

Re: Please! ASAP!

Sounds like an alright range for now. Adding a flat rock for basking wouldn't hurt, but maybe wait until she's settled in more. Try to keep her environment consistent for a while.

5 feet is still a larger female. Most are around 4 feet.

As for weight, tough to say. I have some adults that are 1800 grams and a few in the 2500+ gram range.

She will most likely fall in between those.

Re: Please! ASAP!

she comes out usually around sunset. She is still a little timid but doesn't constantly go into ball mode (only time she got completely balled up is during the trip over) I will be feeding her tuesday (or at lest trying to) although I've done my research I want to be sure I'm doing it right. She still doesn't come out during the day that I can tell and was wondering how I should go about feeding if she remains in her hide. (Also tips on thawing her food won't hurt either "^.=.^ also, is it normal for them to stay in for most the time and only come out seldom? (Stays in her favorite hide)

That's ball python behavior. They are inactive snakes for the most part and will hide most of time, especially during the day being that they are nocturnal.

To thaw out prey items you can leave them out for several hours in room temperature, or leave them in warm water to speed things up. In warm water, it can take anywhere between 10-40 minutes depending on the size of the prey item.

It doesn't matter if your ball is in its hide. Just dangle the rodent infront of the hide(where the opening is) and it should take once it smells it. You could drag it across the floor/hide near the snake to get the snake's attention.

Thank you, confidenice regained lol I just wanted to be sure I figure that was why (the nocturnal thing) I think she is settling in nicely

Re: Please! ASAP!

Try feeding her late in the evening. Many nocturnal snakes tend to prefer that. Experimenting with different times of day can wait until later on(for convenience, if you want)

Also, if you're thawing the feeder in warm water, put it in a ziploc bag to keep it dry. Some people soak the rat directly in the water, but I wouldn't recommend this as it promotes more bacterial growth and will cause substrate to stick to the rat. One of my snakes is finicky about the temperature of her prey, so after I thaw her rat in warm water I transfer it to hot water(still in a bag) for a couple minutes just to bring it up to a "living body" temperature. The others don't care.

Thankyou I was going to use a bag to do this anyway, since I divided up the rat fuzzies, I left one odd one in its own bag to thaw in. It seems she comes out around 8:30 to 9:00 in the evening and I prefer not to have to leave it in there overnight. But if she doesn't directly come out for it, this is what I should do right? (After I do all you've already stated)

Yes, you can leave it in overnight and it should be gone in the morning.

Re: Please! ASAP!

Good luck. None of mine eat it if I leave it in over night. I generally just pull it out then reheat and try again. Even my fussy BP takes it the 2nd time around.

Not saying that leaving it in doesn't work. It just hasn't worked for me.

Re: Please! ASAP!

If reheating doesn't work it won't hurt to try leaving it. If even then she doesn't eat, I guess I'll have to wait until next feeding day. Thanks

Re: Please! ASAP!

Sure. =)

Also, Moko likes it to move, so like someone else mentioned, kinda wiggle it and tease her with it like you would a cat. =)
