Re: Scared for my boa
Dinosaur, I’m glad to hear your big girl has a clear route to recovery. Chemical poisoning fits the symptoms and speed of onset of this case much better. As another poster noted, snakes are tough, and I hope she will make a full recovery for you and enjoy many years of pampering.
BTW, if she was exposed, your male may have been too, and while he is not showing symptoms (snakes are masters at hiding illness), you should have him tested as well. That way you can flush his system of the probably more minor exposure, too, if needed -- before any long-term damage is caused. Better safe than sorry. :-)
Dinosaur, best of luck to you. And do get that male tested for safety.

Re: Scared for my boa
Dude, the IBD thing ended three days ago. Just let it go. There's no need to bring it back up when the cause has been discovered and the discussion has moved on.

Re: Scared for my boa
More updates :3
Athena:
She can now actually grip to me! This is exciting. Before she was completely limp and now she can help support her body without flopping around. She now has a VERY shallow butter lid for water and drinks it herself without me having to mist her mouth for water as I was afraid of her drowning. She can also slither straight again! She is plugging along! Her heat is now at 90 in her basking spot and i replaced her light with a ceramic bulb as the lights would aggravate seizures. This week (from last wed to this) she has eaten 3 rat pups- all injected with water and some vitamins. Her skin is getting better as well as her saliva problems, no more drooling or weird smelling spit.
Jerry rice:
The boa that started my obsessions with bos and drawing them- I have actually played with him today. By "play" i mean let him crawl around on my lap and arms. It has been over two weeks since I held him mostly out of fear of causing him to get sick like athena because at the time i wasnt sure if it was catchable. I have missed interacting with him as he really is the love of my life. He is such a gentleman and about to go into the blue soon. I think he "missed" me because he sat in my lap and I think went to sleep. I know snakes cannot miss you but Id like to think he missed my "security".
Jerry rice is excited his girlfriend is on the mend.

Dinosaur, that is great news! Glad to hear your scaly kids are looking up! Good luck with the male's checkup tomorrow (if I recall correctly?)
