Bolivian Boa constrictor
This is one of my favorite boas--a female Bolivian Boa constrictor " amarali," Barry Miller lineage, with a ridiculous amount of pink that is difficult to capture in a photograph. What a heart breaker!

Thats beautiful I have never seen an amarali with that much pink. As always you have an amazing specimen for this locality as well

Out of interest nightflight what do you use for backgrounds when photographing your snakes?
I am a keen photographer but more landscapes etc but I'd love to capture some great shots of my boa and t lepidus.

It depends. I really prefer to take pictures outdoors, but the climate isn't always ideal for that, so often times I have to settle for indoor photography. If I do an actual photo shoot where I can take my time, I use a light box (i.e., a box made out of white material with controlled, diffused lighting) to photograph specimens. If I don't have much time, then I'll often just use a white plastic sheet or a lid or whatever else I have laying around that can act as a background. I try to avoid taking pictures of the animals inside of the enclosure, because the lighting there is usually crappy and will mess up the photos.
Anytime I have all options available, I try to do it outdoors just after sunrise, as the lighting is usually best at that time.

Yep, get the lighting totally. In my view a good photograph is 70-80% lighting and the rest composition.
I will have a play - I have a small softbox and some lights that I can dig out. Do you avoid flash on purpose as I have a wireless flash set up that I could position for best effect (even in the viv if needed)?
Edit: and what lens do you use plus focal length etc.

Amazing looking reptile! I thought it was more of a erythrystic coloration. But pink, that's cool too. What is her attitude like? She looks like she don't take no mess. But I know looks can be decieving.
