What are the laws regarding capturing/keeping wild snakes in Oklahoma?

What are the laws regarding the capturing and keeping non-endangered wild snakes in Oklahoma, on your own property?

I've tried to find out but I really didn't understand it and I've gotten many different answers on it.

Note: I'm not crazily capturing snakes on my property for keeping as pets. I realize how controversial and polarizing that subject is and I'd rather stay away from it.

Have you asked yourself why you'd like to keep native species in the first place instead of enjoying them as they are?

check out the Oklahoma Fish and Wildlife site..
Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation ....download the PDF of the Ok hunting and fishing regs...look at page 38. All the info you could ask for

BTW, there are restrictions, so be careful.....and you do need a license.

Awww I see capturing them just to look at them. I think you'll be fine doing that. Just don't walk around on public land with a snake hook and bags. You might be able to find a field herping buddy with these guys

The Arkansas herp society is a really great club. It would be well worth taking a long weekend to attend one of the field trips.

Here in Kansas you can keep up to five of any species(not endangered of course) but I think we have to have a hunting license.Ive found many species but not what Im looking for. Im looking for baby rats and speckled kings. I find everything but.Personally I wouldnt keep anything that wasnt under a year old. The older they are the harder it is for them to acclimate.
Ive had a couple of wild caught garters and emorys ratsnakes that ate frozen thawed first thing out. I didnt keep them but for a month or two.
