Re: Bloody Pride! Let's see them.
Just out of curiosity. But is there a reason their heads are so small compared to their middle?

Bloods are a heavy body snake like Burmese python just in a short version. And don't be fooled by the body size Bloods have some big heads. They just look small compared to their fat bodies.

Re: Bloody Pride! Let's see them.
As of right now, the blue coloration in breits is exclusive to Keith McPeek's ghost line animals. It usually takes a couple years of growth to take on the bluish hue, and seems to be more prevalent in ghost animals that also carry the marble gene. Only the finest examples of these animals actually hatch out blue...Shannon's girl doesn't carry the marble gene, but I'm confident due to her head color as well as some color on her back, will take on a bluish hue as she grows.
I can't seem to post pics from my phone, but I'll put some up later

Re: Bloody Pride! Let's see them.
Thank you so much for this thread! I love looking at these guys. They're definitely high on my list as far as my next purchase goes.
I'm especially in love with Matrix and Magpie morphs, but they're quite out of my price range at this point!

SSTP stands for Sumatra Short Tail Python. aka Black Bloods.
The only true Bloods are Reds and Red morphs. Borneo's and Blacks are actually Short Tail Pythons. Same specie different sub species. Also something that can make it confusing is there is a Sumatra blood python also which is a true Red blood. They are both found in different parts of Sumatra with a mountain range separating them. Big difference is color, temperament, and size.
As for color they should get dark with age. Some do stay lighter but most get darker.

Re: Bloody Pride! Let's see them.
Thanks Chuck! The GE girl is nice looking, but don't let her looks fool you. She's my problem child, absolute worst snake to handle...she's big, flighty, and bitey! She's definitely the exception in a room full of calm, cool, fatties.

Lol always got that one Diva that's never happy. For me it's my Matrix. Out side of him all my SST are mellow as can be.
