From what I have found, FWC venom is as toxic as a timber Rattlesnake, but they have a poor delivery system. A venomous snake is a venomous snake regardless of how toxic the venom is. Also a Hog Nose bite can cause some local damage.

Weird. I had read that their bites only cause swelling, pain and bleeding.

Referring to the FWC? That is probably true since like Jerry said, they have a poor delivery system and only inject a small amount.
