Something strange on Ammit
I just came back from my dads house, to find something strange on Ammits tail. I'm not sure if it is a scab, from hurting herself on something..or maybe some scale rot. I put some Neosporin on it. Any idea on what it is or how to get rid of it? Thanks for any help!

Re: Something strange on Ammit
Looks like scale rot. I would clean the area with betadine. Put it on a q tip and give the area a gentle wipe down. Then apply neosporin or any other 3 way antibiotic ointment. I would make sure the enclosure is thoroughly sanitized and cleaned. Take care and keep us posted as he recovers Drumcrush!...oh and if the area gets worse take him to the vet ASAP!

Re: Something strange on Ammit
That sucks, but I'm sure he will recover just fine, looks like you at least caught it pretty early though

Re: Something strange on Ammit
Yeah, it could be much worse, which I'm glad it isn't!

Re: Something strange on Ammit
Looks like he may have just pulled of a couple scales, not necessarily scale rot. Should be fine once he sheds again, but you can do the betadine and some antibiotic ointment like what Primal Rage said

Re: Something strange on Ammit
Ammit just shed and her tail looks 500x better. Still healing though she definitely had scales pulled.
