Feeding 2 cornsnakes

Hi guys. Good night

I have 2 cornsnakes in a big terrarium.
And i have one problem about feeding them.

The bigger one ( orange) eat very good but the small (brown) just dont eat. I put the little mouse in front of her mouth and she just dont do nothing.

And today i notice one thing i give a little mouse to the brown and she start eat but after one hour i go check if she eat and i think she put the mouse out and the orange snake just eat it.

Anyone can help me with this???

Thanks

Re: Feeding 2 cornsnakes

Maybe the bigger one is stressing out the smaller one. I suggest separating them.

How long has it been since the little one hasn't fed?

For starters I would suggest not feeding (or housing) them together. You are likely stressing the little one by having the big guy in there. They may also be competing for temperature spots and hides causing more stress.

To get the best advice, post pics of your set-up, and give the temps of hot and cool spots, etc.

They probably shouldnt be housed together but definately shouldnt be fed together. If the smaller one starts eating and the larger grabs the mouse from the other end it could end up eating the snake as well.

I agree with this. You're risking your smaller snake getting eaten.

If you won't separate them for housing, at least take the little one out of that enclosure and put it into a secure tub with its mouse to give it adequate time to eat its own meal.

Your hot side should be 29 or 30c or about 85f.i agree with others you need to house snakes in different enclosures.

Re: Feeding 2 cornsnakes

Give the snake time to settle in, like a week and try feeding again, you can't expect it to feel secure and not stressed right as soon as you put it in there, might even take more than a week.

some snakes go off feeding for months, it's not unnatural for a snake to do that

Even humans can go 4 weeks without eating.

I agree. Seperate them. Seperate enclosures and feeding.

We don't come out looking as good as a snake who hasn't eaten in 4 weeks though
