Help identifying please
Picked this little guy up from petsmart a couple of weeks ago. They had it listed as a 'fancy' kingsnake. Looking for some help on identifying what kind of kingsnake it is. Sorry for the poor picture.

Re: Help identifying please
The black head reminds me of a Desert Kingsnake. However the other markings past it's head don't look like any species I can think of.. Looks like a hybrid. Can you try getting some better pics?

Thanks everyone, here's a closer pic, I'd like to take a better quality one but he's in shed now and not much in a mood to pose for pictures

Re: Help identifying please
Hmm.. it didn't post the second picture and resized the third to half the size. And it won't let me link to photobucket. This appears to not be working out for me...

Re: Help identifying please
You need 5 posts to be able to post links.

Re: Help identifying please
Ah, I see. I guess I'll just continue referring to it as a 'fancy' kingsnake. Identifying wasn't really a huge deal anyway, I'm just a curious dude. Thank you!

Re: Help identifying please
I've read that sometimes mbks will start out with some faint patterning which fades as they grow, would be interesting to see if he gets darker

Re: Help identifying please
Looks like he came through his first shed well, so yay (this is my first snake so I was a little apprehensive about the shedding process)
I've tried to get some better pics but the little guy doesn't like to sit still at all when he's not burrowed into the aspen. I managed to get a couple better ones I think and will attempt posting them again. Here's hoping I can actually post links to them

Re: Help identifying please
very handsome!! He looks like he might have some desert king in him, but honestly i wouldn't be surprised if he has some MBK in there too, and ends up a solid black snake. will be interesting to see how he changes as he grows!
