Tokay Gecko

My boyfriend and I picked up a (supposedly) CB Tokay a couple days ago. I'm looking forward to raising this guy (or girl). It's such a shame they're not more popular. Who wouldn't want a large, bright blue, red spotted lizard? So far s/he hasn't bitten, attempted to bite or barked at me. But s/he also hasn't shown any interest in food. Despite that, it's very active. More active than Crested Geckos I've had in the past.

I'll try to keep this thread updated on its progress.

Good looking gecko! These really interest my husband too. Looking forward to seeing updates!

Re: Tokay Gecko

Cool looking setup. How sure are you that its CB? Does look a bit thin. Tokay's are an amazing colored species but boring imo. My CB/CH eats from the tongs and a bowl like a champ.

Re: Tokay Gecko

It was advertised as CB from the Canadian Reptile Supply. It's slim pickings here. I haven't seen any Tokays other than $15 ones from the local pet store which are definitely wild caught.

Nice!! Tokays are slightly more popular here, heard they have a very hard bite though

Re: Tokay Gecko

I'm in the search of another Tokay but most reptile stores seem to get them from the Canadian Reptile Supply. I wish I could get my hands on some morphs

CBB tokay are pretty readily available as well if you are actively looking. I've been thinking about it on and off for a while.

I'd prefer to get something locally. I've been browsing Kingsnake and some breeder websites for awhile, but I just am having a hard time bringing myself to buying critters online from someone I don't know.

Re: Tokay Gecko

I've yet to find a breeder in Canada :/ If you know of any US breeders that ship to Canada, that'd be great.

Re: Tokay Gecko

So s/he still hasn't shown any interest in food. Kind of concerning since it is so thin. :/ I'm patiently waiting it out though.
