Most intriguing snake?
Which snake species do you find most intriguing? It does not have to be one you own, or ever plan on owning ... Just the one you find to be most interesting.
I have to say personally, the snake I find to be most intriguing is the boomslang. I don't have any desire to ever own one ( even if they were more readily avaible) I just find them to be fascinating. Plus the males are very pretty. Not the most venemous, largest, or active but one of my favorites non the less.

Re: Most intriguing snake?
i would have to say any/all of the sea snakes.... It is just so cool how highly adapted they are!!! And you rarely see them in captivity, so its something you really only see in nature documentaries/field herring trips, in their natural habitat displaying natural behaviors!

Re: Most intriguing snake?
Many viper species... why do venemous snakes have to look so cool?

Re: Most intriguing snake?
I know I am probably in the minority , but I am not all that crazy about most vipers aesthetics. Not that I hold anything against them, or those that do they just aren't for me. (I think it's the blunter more rounded snout.) I like the longer, sharper features. (if that makes any sense xP ) A lot of the vipers/other venomous species have some really cool features and adaptations though.

The King Cobra. Love the head pattern, the growl and they are smart. Don't have one yet but it's on my list of next snakes to get.

Re: Most intriguing snake?
The Hairy Bush Viper is an awesome looking snake. Even if it wasn't venomous, it would look dangerous. For some reason the Stiletto Snake of the Atractaspididae family were fascinating to me. They not very impressive to look at but they have a single fang that they pop out of the side of their mouth and stab their prey with it. It's the perfect adaptation for hunting in mole and rat burrows where they don't have room to rear back and strike. They glide up next to their prey and flick their head to the side and they're all done. Wicked venom that causes massive tissue damage, but not really considered dangerous to people.

It may not kill you, but you will wish you were dead. It can destroy tissue and bone. Loosing limbs or appendages are not uncommon.
but still, a very intriguing species for sure.

Blue so uncommon in snakes. I had the rare opportunity to work with one once. Beautiful creatures!
