My White Oak Grey Rat Snake.

Again, it seems like I talk about him a ton but I hadn't gotten around to posting a pic. Well, he just shed today, so I thought I would use the opportunity to take a couple pictures of his fresh new clothes.

Unfortunately, he's a bit squirmy, so no pics of him in my hand. Maybe I'll get a shot of him feeding later, though.

I got him from Reptmart back in November. This is the second times he's shed since then. He's actually grown quite a bit since he arrived, and he's been getting lighter with each shed.

Heh. They don't usually get this big, but I'm preparing for an 8 footer...just on the off chance that I get the freak of nature. He's a good eater though, so I expect him to do a lot of growing.

He has yet to bite me or give me the "S pose" so I don't think his has too much rat snake attitude. The worst he's given me was a nose bump, but he's calmed down a lot since then.

No doubt, but I'm looking forward to it. When he gets bigger, I intended to build him a large display cage with a lot of climbing space. I might also try feeding him a varied diet. Mostly rats, but probably some birds and eggs as well. It should interesting to see if he'll go for them.

Thanks, he's a real cutie pie. It's actually kind of interesting how little info there seems to be about them. Maybe more people will begin keeping them once a few morphs start popping up.

Re: My White Oak Grey Rat Snake.

I also keep a 5 month old black rat snake and have noticed the lack of info due to it all being placed on corn, milk and king snakes! I love my little un though! Dont know how to add pics to this comment to show her off :-P
