Re: Kings of the forum!
I really like the colors and pattern on that one. I haven't seen many milks at the shows, and none quite like that one anywhere. Might end up with a milk snake yet, lol.

Re: Kings of the forum!
He came from Reptiles by Mack. They call these crosses orange milk snakes. I hadn't bought from them before but the experience was good. He's a really nice little snake. I don't know if they all look like that - probably some of them take after the Pueblan parent. He came from their Reptique section, where the snake you see on the website is the actual individual you get. Usually you just order an orange milk snake, and you can ask if they have one that has certain markings, eats F/T, etc. They try to accommodate but you don"t know for sure what you've got until you open the box.
And boy, will he EVER take a F/T pinky. For a hatchling he sure strikes hard. It made a small thumping noise when he hit, and his enthusiastic feeding response startled me such that I almost dropped the tongs. He gulped the mouse down and looked hopefully at me for another.
I tried to lure him out of his cave to an area without shavings, but no sooner did I wave the pinky in front of his hide than his head shot out, he ripped the pinky off the tongs and dragged it back inside. By the time I lifted the lid only the little feet were sticking out of the corner of his mouth.
"Got any more of those, lady?"

Re: Kings of the forum!
I've seen Mack's posts on fauna classifieds, don't usually pay too much attention though. Prices seem a bit steep compared to shows, but he does have some nice stock and apparently takes very good care of them. My everglades rat snake has that same feeding response. I just dangle them by the tail from my fingers, she hits hard but never misses or goes for the hand. As soon as the first one is down she's looking for another, and at her size she usually gets 2 or 3 depending on how big the mice are.

Re: Kings of the forum!
She is one of my prized possessions. On a semi hunger strike lately. I'll be glad when she starts putting on some size. Haha. My 0.1 Arizona mountain King. Wifey named her Thomasina. Lol.

Thanks Mink! I always had a passion for these guys but never had good luck with them. She had escaped a couple of times back in the summer and I was lucky to get her back. Now she just doesn't seem to want to eat fuzzies or pinkies now. Keeping her in a 4 qt. tub with a ambient temp of 83.0f. Humidity is about 50% basking temp of 88.0 by thermostat controlled ultrtherm.

Re: Kings of the forum!
@ EL Ziggy. Thanks. I really enjoy their calm demeanor and attractive patterning and coloration. I will be interested in pairing her with a hypo Arizona mountain King or a albino AMK.

Re: Kings of the forum!
Nice! The tangerine hondos are particularly striking but the pic of the black milk just starting to turn black got me giddy because my first black milk Andromeda is coming with warmer weather. She still looks like any tricolor baby... for now.

Re: Kings of the forum!
Soooo, I have been wanting to add another king to my collection for a while but was kind of looking at variables and thyreis. However I have always had a soft spot for brooks and a serious thing for just about anything hypo.
On a short trip to get feeders, low and behold, theu have a hypo brooks king! (And a variable!) But, between the two, I just couldn't say no to the hypo! And, he was SO calm! He tail rattled a bit, but was the moat calm baby/juvie king I have ever seen!
I'll post his own thread and some better pics in a few days. For now here he is!
(Can't decide between Ramses or King Tut)

Re: Kings of the forum!
You're too much Mink . Very nice pickup and beautiful King. Between the 2 names I like Ramses.
