He's here! (black milk snake)
My baby black milk snake arrived this morning, about 40 min ago . He was pretty freaked out so I couldn't hold him for pictures but here are a couple quick ones:
After that I wanted to leave him alone so he could settle in . I'll get some real photos once he's settled. What do you guys use for substrate? I was thinking of doing aspen but let me know if there's something better. I'm still planning his "real" set-up .

Pretty boy! I'm always a fan of that vibrant red. Any decisions on a name?
Also, Aspen works pretty well, a bit on the dusty side but nothing a quick spray won't fix.

Re: He's here! (black milk snake)
Thanks, guys! Aspen it is .
I'll definitely get pics when he has a new tank and such. Right now he's in a smaller enclosure for quarantine since the place he's being quarantined is a room with not much extra space. I'm going to pick up a 20-gallon as a more permanent home (until he outgrows it, of course!).
Not sure on names yet. I was thinking Remington for some reason, no idea where it came from. We'll see .

Awesome! Can't wait for more pics! Cool name! Darth is in a 10g for now. As much as he is eating it won't be long for a larger enclosure! Lol

Yup, got him out today but not intentionally. Roommate wanted to see him, titled the enclosure slightly, and spilled water . Woke me up because he didn't know what to do and felt really bad . So I had to change the paper towels and he slithered up my arm. Got a cute picture:
He seems really nervous but not aggressive or anything. I really didn't want to handle him yet but he seemed ok with it. I'll try feeding him soon .

Re: He's here! (black milk snake)
I still can't get mine to eat :-( I hope you have better luck with yours! I tried braining tonight. Still nothing so far. I am going to leave it overnight and check in the morning.
