I think most provinces don't allow venomous snakes. Here in Saskatchewan, you can't keep any pythons, boas, or anything venomous.
Gorgoeus pictures, though! Very cute snake.

I will admit, I had forgotten that a lot of snakes are illegal as pets in many places... I was too busy focusing on keeping track of the locations where my dogs are illegal

They are not allowed in Alberta because they are native here and the species is threatened(it's a very small isolated population) so they don't want people picking them up out of the wild. The Madagascar hoggies are allowed, just seem impossible to find here though. We also have garter snakes here but your allowed to own them. You just can't sell the 3 native species here.
