New snake owner here, My name is Carissa :)

Hello everyone just wanted to introduce myself I'm Carissa and this is my baby cornsnake Jinx! I'm new to owning a snake but so far everything is going good tomorrow is her feeding day and she is about 23 inches long and almost an inch at her widest point. I am very fond of her. Also, is she an ultramel? I am thinking she is but would like a more experienced opinion. Thanks!!

Yay! A corn snake person! I havent looked super hard for corny people on here but the majority seem to have pythons ( which is cool I have those too) or boas. She could be an ultramel. I am not experienced enough to say yes or no. She does seem awfully bright but there are variations in many amelanistic strains. I mean extreme reverse okeetees are amels as are sunglows both are just bred for certain volors. ultra and ultramel are used to brighten colors and is a totally differentbgenetic effect. Im new to the site so I dont have anyone to refer you to here but vmsherp.com and cornsnake.net have been invaluable online resources for me and are also great places to add to your collection if you evet want more. You may also try cornsnakes.com a forum for cornsnake lovers and ownera.and see if anyone there has a better opinion on your jinx' genetics.

Yes, I am very interested in cornsnakes. Once this little girl is old enough I plan on starting some breeding projects with her. Also thankyou for the websites and suggestions

We call that "albino" they are commonly sold as "albino" because the only pigment lacking is the black.

I have one the same colour.

That is what I am working on too. If you.are serious about breeding.corns id definitely either.find a copy of don soderbergs book or email him if you have questions. He has been an invaluable resource to me.
I have two males right now. I know youre supposed to get your girls first but I saw them and couldnt resist. Im on the look out for ideal females for them. I dont.think I will do more than.two or three pairs initially until I make sure I have a big enough market for them. I would like to breed more than.that but if I dont have places for babies to go I cant be stuck with.too many lol.
Well cool. Your corn is lovely and I wish you best of luck in your endeavors and congrats on your new pet!
