Pacman death mystery?
So just 20 minutes ago I looked at my frog and he was fat and happy and wiping his face with his little hands and I just looked at him again and it looks like he just peed all the water out of himself cuz now he's just skin and bones and obviously dead. It looks like he was just popped. What caused this to happen to my frog?

Re: Pacman death mystery?
I doubt anybody can tell you what happened. Take it to a vet? Sorry for your loss.

Re: Pacman death mystery?
We had a red eye tree frog do that couple of years back, checked on him and he was happy, went to bed and in the morning he looked like someone had sucked him dry.

Did you ever get it checked out to see what happened to it? I'm really curious to find out what caused it but I don't really want to spend the money at a vet to see what happened since its already dead and it was the only frog I have.

Re: Pacman death mystery?
I remember reading more than once, that people who kept pacmans on wet pebbles as substrate, had their frogs 'burst' from ingesting the pebbles. The other thing I was thinking is if there was some sort of contact with a toxin, maybe it wasn't pee but vomit.
Your the frog guy, maybe what I'm saying doesn't make sense, I just remember reading something like that

I used ecoearth coco fiber. He was also kept in a small critter keeper cuz he was only about 1 1/2" snout to vent. I did not have a heat source for him, but the room he was kept in stays around 80 degrees during the day and drops to about 75 at night.

I don't have experience with frogs, I think poison is your go to guy. Is it possible that he came in contact with any toxins or something?

I don't see how he could. I never touch him and I always treat his water before I mist him.

Re: Pacman death mystery?
My red eyed tree frog dies suddenly to. I bought two from and expo and a week later I woke up to one looking like it was sucked dry other one is fine so I have no clue what happened. Your frog could have been sick when you bought it.

No I had not. Now that you mentioned that I should have done that. It's been about a month since the other one died and the healthy one is still doing great

I am curious too i thought I was the only one. Then I read his post and found out that my frog was not some random fluke in nature
