Question on garter snake size
I am going to be acquiring a albino checkered garter snake from Kyle Milller. It is a male. I would like to know how how big they get when full grown. Males and females. I have been researching there care and it seems pretty straight forward. Thanks in advance.

Probably around 18 - 24 inches, though it can vary. The record length of a wild checkered garter snake is 42.5" according to my old (1991) Peterson Field Guide.

Captive-raised snakes sometimes get longer than their wild counterparts.

Funny that you're getting one--so am I, on Wednesday. Wasn't in the plans, but I am doing a trade and the baby got thrown in on top.

Thanks for the reply. I am really looking forward to getting this snake I have read garters are really fun to watch and come in a variety of colors. As well as their husbandry is very simple this I like.

Males of the species tend to be half the size of females.
