What Type Of Carpet Python?
I am in the process of getting two carpet pythons. Both are 5ft. Male and Female. The female according to the guy I am getting them from says she is a red phase coastal. Now he says the male is an Jungle/Diamond mix. I am so excited to get these guys! They are eating frozen rats already. I am not to familiar with the differences between the Coastal, Jungle, and the Irian Jaya. I know that they are different in sizes once full grown but am not sure how to tell them apart. I am hoping you guys can help me with that. This is also my first post on here! I am Ken and live in central Va. I have had ball pythons in the past when I was like 13 but had to give them away according to some stuff going on. I have really been missing my snakes so I am now getting back into them. Just as pets. Been looking around and I am really liking the Carpets! Thanks for any help guys!

The software has a five post minimum before pictures can be posted.
Blame it on the spammers and trolls.

They both look like they have diamond in them.

Re: What Type Of Carpet Python?
imo neither of them look like a Coastal mate
first one looks like it may be a Diamond Jungle...
second one may be a some type of Jag Sibling,as may be the first one...
a clutch bred for the Jaguar Morph, only gives out roughly 50% Jaguars the rest Siblings that do not carry the Jaguar Gene...
theres no real way of telling what they are, unless you speak to the person who bred them...
they are both good looking carpets, regardless of what genetics are behind them
cheers shaun

Re: What Type Of Carpet Python?
I agree with Shaun. That male definitely looks like he has some diamond blood in him, and I see jungle influence as well. I don't see diamond in the female, although it's possible. I see the jungle influence but it's unlikely she is pure jungle.

Re: What Type Of Carpet Python?
The male is stunning. Black and white carpets are highly sought after, actually. And in my opinion, it does pass for a jungle X diamond..

Re: What Type Of Carpet Python?
Well just got them today! He said the male was a little aggressive when inside the cage but once out is great! He lets me reach right in and grab him. The female is so nice! Very tame. They both are awesome! Anyway here are some photos. Here is Sampson the male.
His eye looks a little sunken in. Is this normal?
I hope you guys can help with trying to figure out what he is.
Here is the female Delilah.
Sorry for all the photos. The guy said that the female was 6 years old and that he has had her for about a year. She came from Richmond Constrictors. Not sure how long he had the male but I do know that he had him since he was young. They are both about 5ft. The photos make them look a lot whiter than they are. Let me know what you think. Still need to get another lamp and bulb.
