I saw the beer and thought the same. Congrats on being a stand up keeper. Many would have considered it just to expensive to do what you have done.

I refuse to give up on an animal that fights as hard as she does. There is life and will in that snake

Incredible--you, your snake and your vet. This world just seems to get better...one day at a time! Congrats on the progress!

Re: Scared for my boa
O.O the forces of luck do not seem to be on your side.
Glad to hear you are on the mend along with the snake. I'll watch for the video!

I am pretty much a walking example of bad luck.

Re: Scared for my boa
That really sucks! Be careful with other tree nuts as well, especially cashews and almonds. Food allergies are the worst! Do lots of research and read all ingredients on foods that you buy. You'll be amazed at what is in foods.

Re: Scared for my boa
wow long thread, glad to see your snake is recovering.
i know my next rant has probably nothing to do with how your snake got poisoned but i still thought it was important to stress.
but this is exactly why i always recommend ivory soap as an alternative to nix
im not saying your animal was nixed for mites or anything, but your animal is sick with the same active ingredient thats in nix.
maybe one day we will stop spraying our loved ones with harmful neurotoxins.

Re: Scared for my boa
it kills mites similar to using water but it is much more effective(im pretty sure it would be drowning?), you would have to rinse and repeat with this method but again your not exposing you or your animals to nix.
thats how i do it now, i nixed once before when i had boids, but iam defintely not going to expose my drymarchon to anything like that, its bad enough they have to have fluoride in their water because i use tap water.

But what about the eggs? Killing the mites is one thing but if you dont kill the eggs in the enclosure then you arent solving the problem
