Smile Pvc enclosure

so i just recently bought a PVC enclosure for my Boas and i was wondering if i would be able to just put flex watt heat tape on the top on the bottom enclosure so when i stack the second one on top the heats just right there instead of taping directly to the bottom or even on a separate piece of material

Re: Pvc enclosure

I am sure someone will say yes but personaly I keep a 1" gap between my bottom heated vivs and stack dirrectly with rhp heated enclosures.
So for me taped to the bottom is best.

Re: Pvc enclosure

The heat tape won't heat the bottom enclosure well.

Re: Pvc enclosure

do you tape the flex watt to the bottom of your enclosure then have the 1'' gap or tape it to the top of the enclosure so it heats the one on top???
can i just lay them directly on the heat tape or no? i use flex watt for my rack system and they directly on top but a bit hangs out on the side, does it need to breath like heat pads??
or would it be better to get a thin sheet of melamine or another type and tape the flex watt to that material then lay the pvc on that??

Re: Pvc enclosure

Tape it to the bottom of the enclosure you are heating. Tape it right on the pvc. Use 1" spacers to creat a gap. So yes. Just like a heat pad.
