I Just Witnessed a Shed!
Ok Im not exactly new at snake keeping but Ive only been doing it full bore for a couple of years. Anyway, in these two years, I have never actually witnessed a shed until now. Schatzi shed a perfect sock and I got to see it take place. How awesome is that?! Up until now Ive only seen the results afterward but never the process itself. Man, this set my day off on the right track for sure!
Sorry no pics as my phone is on the charger but I thought Id like to share this with you guys anyway.

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
I have seen every snake I have shed. My big female JCP has only shed twice since we got her and I saw both sheds. Skittles sheds almost monthly so we see her all the time. Oh well your in it for the long haul so you will see more.

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
I've seen most of mine shed at one point or another. Its still cool everytime. My sister walked into my room a couple days ago and saw my big ij Bertha shedding. She thought it was really cool too since she never seen it before. Wiz, we need pics next time.

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
Her tank was next in line to be cleaned so I was able to get a pic of her just after the shed but before the cleaning and then a pic of her after her tank was cleaned. The phone was on the charger like I said, so I was not able to get to it in time.

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
Cool! I have only seen mine shed maybe a half dozen time if that in my 20 years of keeping snakes. I always just catch the tail end of it. No pun intend.

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
That's cute. I've been lucky enough to see quite a few of mine shed...but also they were all over my living room....lol
I did get a video of my huge male ball shedding one time. I don't think i ever posted it. A lot of them shed overnight (at least you're sleeping Rob! That's the good news! lol)
and now that they're all in the "snake room" it's always that i find one when i come home from work...or they've left it, along with a nice poo gift, in their sauna for me to find *lol*

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
It's fascinating how they shed their new skin. The last time I kept snakes, it wasn't unusual for me to catch my royal shedding. Since I began keeping again last year, I have only caught a couple of my others once or twice shedding. I always miss it...but then I work alot. (that's soon to change though!)

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
I KNOW how exciting witnessing your first shed can be... I saw my first shedding a few weeks ago! Super cool. Wish you could've recorded it though. Maybe you'll get to see it again

Re: I Just Witnessed a Shed!
it is neat to see, my Blizzard Khuno loves an audience for shedding, so I get to see him shed all the time, everyone else does it in the dark!!
