Scale

What's a good scale to weigh both young and adult snakes?

Re: Scale

Oh my. This has been asked so many times

I use the Oxo brand scale. I love it because it had a pull out tab. This is a video of me using it to weigh Pika a while ago:

Re: Scale

My buddy who doesn't own snakes at all has other uses for his scale that weighs in oz/grams lol go to any smoke shop and look at the scales... I don't have one yet but that's where I'm going to get mine.. As usual anything made specifically for reptiles is crazy expensive but you can get the same product somewhere else for much cheaper...

My housemate has one. It's big enough for Zeus, but not for Penelope. Plus I don't want to put my snake anywhere near any of that stuff...

Re: Scale

They come brand new... Never opened in a box. The only difference is it wouldnt be made by a reptile company.

Re: Scale

I just use a digital food scale I got off Amazon. Works the same and was cheap. I think it was like $13

What kind of snakes? An adult retic and corn might need scales with slightly different ranges

Every scale will list a range of weights. A kitchen scale is a good place to start, but might be too low on the max range for some larger species.

She has a Brazilian Rainbow Boa and a Milksnake. I would go with alessia's, it is recommended by many.

Re: Scale

Well this is lame. My scale just came in the mail today, and it doesn't work. This is what I get for being cheap...

I ordered the Oxo instead.

Re: Scale

I just bought the cheapo from Bed Bath and Beyond, 20 bucks, no shipping, made sure it worked before I left the store :P
