I'm curious too! What are the layers of substrate you used? And what are the,sparkly blue things?

Yea everything in the tank is natural and alive. I read a thread a while ago and someone told me I needed gravel for drainage if I had live plants so that's what the blue is. The layers are gravel (for drainage) cheese cloth (to keep the soil out of the gravel but still let water threw) then around 4 inches of soil and a small layer of Eco earth coco fiber bedding for looks and humidity. Also, I plan on eventually putting a layer of reptibark on top for looks.

I heard that hygroballs are better than gravel. The reptibark is a good idea I think

Well I was limited on money and only had gravel left over from a fish tank I use to have. I figured it was better than nothing. I already owe my mom 40$ for the lid and the clips to keep him in, but after I pay her back and get some more money I'm going to buy some more live plants, moss, and some reptibark .

If you lived closer I'd give you some reptibark and some moss 
Actually, I don't know where you live but I assume it's not the Bay area in Cali haha

I live in northern Indiana , but thanks anyways   . My grandparents live in the country and I found some really cool moss I've never seen in the petstores but I can't seem to keep it alive. My mom put some in her plant vivarium and it grows but for some reason it won't grow in my snake tank. I guess I just don't have the right humidity or something.

You could get it at a garden store for cheap, no?

Yea, but I've never seen anywhere sell the stuff I found. At least I don't think. That reminds me I also need to make him a moist hide still >.> Uggg that's another hide I have to buy.. Snakes can be expinsive!

But I'm picky and want my tank to look natural too... so I'd rather spend the money than use a box haha
