Hands, the new substitute reptile feeders.
I was working with my newest retics (only about 3 feet but really nippy)I calmed them down and was just holding them when my dumbass of a cat jumps on my lap and sets off a feeding response... Next thing you know the male is trying to eat my middle finger and the female is randomly biting my hand and trying to swallow the hook..... SIGH
"all of my fingers were bitten in the making of this photograph, including 4 from the other hand..." They were all coiled around my wrists calmly before the cat came into the picture, and I had to uncoil the damn things to get them off, then work on releasing the coils on my finger, then release the jaws... that middle finger was completely down the males throat...
My knuckles on my middle finger are starting to swell, not sure why... there is almost no pain in my hand...

lol, i like how someone called you'd get bit just earlier. that sucks. hopefully the swelling is just irritation from the bite.

Re: Hands, the new substitute reptile feeders.
ha ha, looks awesome. I make it a point to keep my cats out of the room when Nero is out. Like Ninja said it my be irritation from the bite. The other thing it could be is it is entirely possible you could have jammed it and the adrenaline from the moment (gotta love it) prevented you from feeling the pain (or the pain from the bite was more significant). Just throwing out alternatives.

Re: Hands, the new substitute reptile feeders.
There's a good chance there's a tooth stuck in your hand if it's swelling.
Maybe handling one at a time is also a good idea.

Ouchie.. you got it good. I think keeping the cat locked out of the room if you are taking them out is a must. Unless of course you want to feed the cat to them!

Re: Hands, the new substitute reptile feeders.
My hand is fine now, swelling went down after a few hours, you can't even see the cuts.
My finger is stiff though.

Re: Hands, the new substitute reptile feeders.
When my SD hit my thumb the worst part was the bruising rather than the bite, made it stiff and sore for a few days.

That would have been me. 36_1_1.gif.
Now you have a good reason to get rid of the cat and the means to get rid of it. lol

Re: Hands, the new substitute reptile feeders.
When they get older I fully intend to feed that cat, my neighbors dogs and possibly my neighbor to them.
