Maybe it's just the poor lighting on my lap top, but he looks like he has gold on him in the pictures to me. Very nice looking either way.

Wandering garter snakes do in fact have a golden hue to their back stripe.

I keep two Wanderings myself, One is Melanistic, the other has a golden yellow back stripe on it.

Good looking snake, is it on Pinkies or fish?

He's actually on fuzzies now. He also likes occasional nightcrawlers.

Neither of my wanderings care about night crawlers. They tear into the mice, but no interest in worms.

I obtained the Melanistic as an adult, but I raised the "normal" from birth, he used to eat my chopped up fish/pinkie mush until he got big enough to take pinkie mice. Now he eats 3 jumbo pinks at each feeding.

Interesting. The first time I ever offerred mine nightcrawlers, he attacked them pretty much instantly. He does love his mice too though...

i love how good a picture these guys take,they have so much expression on their faces

i instantly fell in love with them after wayne posted pictures of his amazing garter collection

for a while now,i've been meaning to get some for my wifes first lone venture into snake keeping

she too fell in love with waynes super stars of his collection (sky especially and the wee red dude)
