I haven't, but I am pretty sure that it would be a bad idea. Most people don't know the regulations shipping from the US to Canada. In addition, they all seem to use UPS to ship....

I thought about starting a Canadian one....I am deveoper, so it would be fairly easy.....

I don't know how much interest there would be in a Canadian one.

i think it would be a great idea, we need more canadian based websites, and a reptibid would be a perfect idea

The thing about reptibid is that there are a lot of cheap animals to purchase. Thing about Canada, we're too stingy to sell our animals cheap, so really there wouldn't be that many deals.

I am producing a few clutches of cbb bearded dragons and will deffintily put them on an auction with out a reserve. But i TOTALLY agree, we are very stingy. Hopefully with an auction it will help us for the better

I think the key to a successful Canadian Auction site would be to have a few of the larger breeders/importers put up a number of animals to start off with.

Auction sites can also be used as classifieds, just put a reserve, and allow sellers to put a long expirey on the animal.

Who knows.....

I like getting awesome deals, and as karma would have it, I don't mind giving a good deal.

I'd probably be a regular to the site.

I was thinking the same thing as Katt but I figured I'ld put the idea out there. I think I'll try and mention it to them anyway. really shouldnt be much effort for them and the worst that will happen is it flops

Opposite. We're too cheap to pay what an animal is really worth.

Actually, Reptibid DID have reptibid.ca when it first started up, but after months of NOBODY posting anything for auction, it was shut down.

That's sad Ken, but I think Canadian sister-sites don't do well if they are American based, I know of one big name site that doesn't get much action...

Jeff hit it right on the nose there. Which is why I guess I love getting a good deal Must be the genetics of a Canadian. Therefor I think the site would do well, since Canadians are natureally cheap after all.

The problem with Canucks being cheap is, we're also not willing to post a snake just to the "highest bidder". It's "my price or pi$$ off. "
