You could boil it and use a piece of tin foil to collect the steam. Then it will run down the tin foil in droplets and you need to collect them with a cup or something. Or you could buy spring water, but its not really necessary from what I understand. I remember reading a post about people saying how it takes out the nutrients or minerals or something in the water that makes it useless.
Where I work we use de-osmosis water, ors omething to that lol, and they only use it in the sprayers, but not for the water dishes.
Someone will be more help

in my opinion (and that of a lab i used to work at), tap is fine for reptiles, but not for phibs. mammals actually do better with tap water than purified water. but reptiles are ok with either purified or tap. my reptiles and mammals get tap water, my phibs i treat with stress coat.

I just smacked a pur filter on my tap, so I guess it helps a little. From what I have read there is a lot of controversy about tap water and animals, but heck, as much as the natural water sources are polluted with waste runoff and pollution from the air, who even knows whats best anymore.

Do a search on this site for "reverse osmosis" and/or "purified water". It'll open your eyes. If you care to have them opened that is........

Wow Jeff. Eyes wide open here. Guess i should save the pur filter for just us. I use it cause I swear it makes the water taste better, and I hate drinking plain water anyways so the addition of the filter was an incentive for me. 8 glasses a day my behind, though!
So much for giving the snake the fancy water!

Remember, purified water ain't that great for us either. ESPECIALLY people who have low calcium or minerals in their bodies (osteoporosis). We weren't built to drink water that has a higher osmotic potential than our cells. Quite the opposite in fact.

Man oh man....they drink from mud puddles teaming with bacteria in the wild. Tap water is ambrosia to these critters
Heck why not just use Evian, or say Perierre water.. You could leave it in a crystal glass next to their solar powered, oxygen tank enriched, gold & diamond endowed hide box
