HogIsland Babies 27 live ( lots of pics )

Last weekend with the ball & Rings clutches came those. 27 babies 6 slugs and 5 stillborn babies. Last year the mother gave 4 magnificent babies ( some of you have three of them ) and some weird pattern stillborns. It is 100% pure HogIsland line , They were originaly exported from the u.s by Tom Crutchfield a long time ago as WC or F1 farm hatched babies they were originaly 6. They went to a guy out west Rick ...... then they went east to Northbay to another guy who bought them and then sold them some time later to Shawn Parker in Toronto . I bought them from him when he finaly decided to sell them.

Here's some pics of the parents....

The Male...

The female....

The female with the 2004 litter....

The slugs and stillborns. with 11 more potential babies the count would have been 38 babies....

The litter, there's some killer pale and bright ones in the lot I'll take pics when they shed....

Last year I had a bunch of slugs ( My fault by the way ) 4 live very nice ones and a few like those. I didint make a big deal of it because stillborns have all sorts of weird patterns and colorations some times. Now this year the stillborns were normal looking and 4 of the 27 have the same pattern like last year stillborns. In my mind this suggests that it is genetic. I'll see what she gives next year and i'll rear back the four to breed between themselfs and the parents.

A pic of number one....Its like a reverse stripe with reduced pattern on the sides what you think? I never saw any other others does anyone heard or saw something like those? I'de be glad to hear about it.

The second one ...( the same snake on both pics)

The third one...

The fourth ....
Sorry low battery in cam...I'll post more pics when they shed anyways. I'll post some of the colombians that i kept for the show... I'm over the 200 mark with the boas & there's more to come. Another interesting project is the pastel suri's and guyana's ...I just hope they dont give me slugs.

Well thats it for now thanks for viewing and i hope you like.

Stav

Wow. That reverse stripe or whatever that is ROCKS! I'm not sure calling it that even does it justice, it's more of an obliterated pattern I think, crazy though whatever it is.

It seems logical to think that if these same sort of abberations showed in two successive clutches from the same parent animals that the trait is inheritable. I guess we can all only hope so until these oddballs grow up and are bred. Good luck!

Congrats! Very cool indeed. Those abberant babies are awesome too. If memory serves, a few years ago someone was selling some hogs that had similar pattern to them back in the ks (american) classifieds a few years ago. I might have a pic saved somewhere on disc, if I can find it I will post it.

Hey PM Herps has produced Hogs here in the US that look very similar to those. They are calling them reduced pattern and have proven them to be genetic.

Follow the link to see more pics...
