Chameleons are like people, they all have individual personalities - some are solitary and hate people while some are chatty and like everyone. I have heard, though, that the montane species are the most mellow, like jacksonii and fischerii, but they are also the most shy.

The smallest chameleon is Brookesia minima, I think it's also the smallest vertebrate in the world, according to the Steve Irwin in his Madagascar special, which just dwells in leaf litter and I'm sure would be fine in a 5 gallon for its entire life if kept in captivity.

This is completly off subject but i didnt want to start a whole new thread. My veiled's leg kinda drags behind him. He has also been shaking a bit. So I was worried and 2 days ago I called the guy I got him from and he said its probably all the wax worms ive been feeding him. I mentioned that it looks like he has MBD. He said he highly doubts it because he has seen my set up( It has a 5.0 reptisun that runs up the side and a basking lamp on the top, i keep both of them on for at least 13 hours a day). Well anyway hes not really shaking anymore but his leg still drags. If anyone can think of what it is please tell me.

P.S I dust his food everyday with a calcium+d3 supplement

Veileds also should have a reptisun 8.0 because they come from an area(Yemen/Saudi Arabia) which have high amounts of UV(becasue its a desert).

How long have you had you veiled for?If you have only had him for a little while I would send it back.

Hope it gets better!

i just looked at him again and he looks fine. I think the guy was right and maybe i did give him to many wax worms. Thanks for your help though, im gunna get an 8.0 tommarow just so it wont happen later.
also who is selling a jackson for 600 i saw about 4-5 really healthy good size ones at my local store for about 90 bucks each.

jackson's are like 30 USD around here

I'd recommend pygmy chameleons if you don't have the space for a larger one
