I wish I could, I've looked for it again and again, maybe I'll get lucky with fall comig on here, I often find them when they've been caught unaware of rapidly dropping night time temps, so keep your fingers crossed.

Pretty sure that's it too man....

We've only got 3 species on the Island:

1) sirtalis pickeringi

2) elegans

3) ordinoides


I'm pretty sure it was the pickeringi.

sparkon16... do you have a permit for them there red sided garters, pal? ha! just kidding! i'm not a c.o., but really, i think you do need a permit to keep a native species, and you better watch what you say on the internet about these things... just some friendly advice, cause you don't know whos reading these posts, do you...... ciao!

Actually, I'm not too sure about that. I was reading on the Government of Canada site and I understood it to say that the species of animals listed on list A were illegal to capture, but the species on list B were legal to capture. I may be wrong, but if what I understood is correct, Red Sideds were on list B, so you may be allowed to keep them, just not sell them, trade them or otherwise profit from their capture.

Now, like I said, I may be wrong. The document was very "legal" so a normal guy like me had a little trouble finding any real answers. I just found more questions..... gotta love those lawyers!

If anyone has read the document I'm speaking of and understands it, please enlighten me.
